Interesting article on one of Chicago's top jazz trumpet players, Victor
Garcia. Apparently Victor felt a bit like he was musically slumming or
coasting by taking a gig with a blues harmonica player awhile back. After
working the job, however, the trumpeter found himself reassessing his
approach to music and to his own instrument:

Not a lot of harmonica content here, I'll admit. But as a guy who has
been devouring harmonica music and info for nearly half a century, sadly,
I've read and heard more than a few insults directed at blues harpists by
other harmonica players. Refreshing to see someone stick up for the idiom
and reaffirm its relevance. Not just for harmonica players, but for all
instrumentalists. IMHO.
