Martin, sorry to hear you're still having problems. The first thing I suggested was that you might be using a lo-z mic cable that didn't include a transformer, such as some Bullet mics require (because the mic is hi-z and has an XLR connector, so it must use a cable with an XLR connector at one end and a 1/4" connector at the other with NO transformer). It seems that you've fixed that.

So I'd look at what you're connecting to on the PA. What is the PA input? If it's a mic input that has a separate gain control in addition to the channel volume control, that could easily push you into feedback. You want a line-level input on the PA to match the line-level output on the RP.

I suppose this is obvious, but what do you have the master volume on the RP set to? If it's 99, try reducing it to 50 and see what happens.

If you can provide a more-detailed description of what exactly is connected to what, I'm sure the problem can be solved. Some of my other customers have had some feedback issues; all of them were eventually resolved by looking at the signal path and figuring out where the gain was being amped to the limit. I very rarely have problems with feedback, and then only when the band is amped to insane levels.

Contact me offlist with that description if you like.

Thanks, Richard Hunter
