[Harp-L] I'll fly away

If you have the basic tabs and can play the melody (I just saw a couple
more tabs posted in response to your post), and you have heard Todd
Parrott's version, then why ask for more tabs?

I strongly believe that tabs should only be used as a rough guide to
learning new melodies. Then you add your own ornamentation, borrowing and
inventing.

I would suggest you explore the music by listening and playing, playing and
listening. This is not a piece of classical music that cannot be altered.

You aren't Todd, you are Jim, and you need to explore Jim's music. It is
good to listen to other players who are good or even exceptional, like
Todd. But then YOU need to play music.

Let your music "Fly Away!" It is time to start experimenting, making
errors (both good and bad errors), and learn to make music from within you,
within your capability.

To grow, you need to learn to play what is in your heart. Let yourself be
a channel through which the music flows.

Just my view... others may disagree. If I sound critical, it is
unintentional. I hope for this idea to be inspirational.

If everyone stuck to playing only tab or sheet music note for note, music
would be static and would never change. To me music is more like a river
than like a stone.

Set your music free!
