Proving once again one size does not fit all . . . lol. I've studied with not one but several highly respected and amazing teachers/performers. I've had countless casual conversations about the subject at SPAH conventions. I have custom harps set up to be overblow friendly by one of the best customizers in the business. I've woodshedded, and woodshedded some more--still can't effectively overblow. After ten years of trying, I can finally choke the one reed but I can't get the pitch to pop reliably--never mind control its intonation. There's no problem with the "traditional" draw bends. I can hit them all day long. But them friggin' overblows? Nada, zippo, zilch. In fact my lack of facility drove me to the chromatic, which I love because it has all the notes but I also hate because I lack the skill to make it sound balsy.
