OY! 444 sounds too sharp for me.
For a year I tuned diatonics at 442, but now settle on 441.

I am aware of the effect of my throat as I hold a tone for Tuning
verification on the meter. So I suppose a survey of players could indicate
that many DO play a little lower (flat). A "mean" for tuning could be
beneficial to MORE players who buy harps. Fewer complaints and returns for
the manufacturer.

Many (low end) import acoustic guitars are set up and delivered with string
action a little higher than preferred. From a retail perspective, a guitar
whose strings buzzed for the player in the store (action TOO low) would be
rejected.
