To which I reply:
The leftover reed plates can be combined to make a country tuning (i.e. standard with sharped 5 draw reed, in this case with draw 9 sharp also). So there's no waste or spare parts, just two cool new tunings made by switching the top plates from two off-the-shelf harps.
Because Lee names the Melody Makers for the key in 2nd position, you'd need to combine a G MM with a C standard (or the same key relationship in other keys, e.g. D MM with G standard, A MM with D standard, etc.).
