[Harp-L] Seydel Orchestra 2 Draw

John,
The issue you are experiencing is most likely related to the relationship
between 2 draw and 2 blow. In this case there is 1/2 step difference and
the draw note is lower than the blow note. You are essentially choking the
note and neither reed is sounding.

This is common and can be fixed by technique and/or gapping.

If neither works, you can also put a wind saver on the top side and that
will work sort of the same way your finger does.

First, try softly drawing long sustained notes on 2 draw and see if you can
naturally find the sweet spot. If not, open the reed up just a little.

If you want to email me back channel I can walk you through this.

If you are in the U.S. and you mess the reed up, I will repair it for you
for no charge. If you are outside the U.S., I will do it for the cost of
shipping.

I'm rather new to the repair stuff and have been scratching my head about
this issue.

It's not buzzing, I've played with the gapping but what seems to be the
solution is when I have my finger sealing the two blow reed, which plays
fine itself, the two draw works, which tells me (I think) it's a gapping
issue with the two blow reed? I've been tinkering with the harp the past
couple days on and off thinking I would just figure it out but I'd rather
not end up destroying a harp that is less than a month old.

Summary: Two draw doesn't sound like it's tight but no burs or gunk are in
there and it works fine when blocking the two blow... help please!
