I use a Bb chromatic since I seem to have a wee bit of difficulty with Bb
on a C chromatic. I know I shouldn't since I can do all kinds of stuff on my
A chromatic, but there it is. We all have our quirks--that seems to be
mine.
So....during past conventions when all of these guys (Rob, Smokey, Phil,
etc. have begun a tune in Bb such as 'Fly Me to The Moon', I could still jump
right in with my Bb chromatic. Opens up the world, at least for me. I
likewise play Alfie on my Bb chromatic--although not a fraction as well as
Stevie Wonder (if only! - his White House performance is fantastic and really
shows close up just what it is Stevie does so well). I named one of my
older rescue kitties Alfie--and it's what I sing and play to him. :)
