Thanks for a great review. And kudos to Hohner for setting this up.
We have occasional harmonica events like this in Sydney Australia. Most
recently with Howard Levy. They are organised by Trish and Jac Smits,
the Hohner distributors for Australia. A regular feature is the table
with Hohner goodies for sale, easily done as Trish and Jac have the
Australian Hohner warehouse.
So. A suggestion for the Hohner US roadshow. It's not realistic for Sam
Ash and the other hosting music stores to carry a full line of the
premium Hohner instruments. The sales would not yet justify it, the
roadshow aims to address this.
Perhaps Hohner could organise a travelling case of high end instruments,
available for sale at the roadshows. The instruments would go for retail
prices, the hosting music stores would take their normal cut. Most
importantly, these instruments would be available to punters at the most
likely time. Just after hearing Ronnie play them.
In dollar terms, the profit would not be so great. The greater reward
would be new lifetime customers of premium Hohner instruments.
