RE: [Harp-L] The name "blues"
Having not followed the thread so far, I still have the temerity to suggest
that all concerned refer to Elijah Wald's fascinating analysis of the "what
is blues?" topic entitled "Escaping the Delta (Robert Johnson and the
Invention of the Blues)", ISBN 978-0-06-052427-2. May be fact, may be
fantasy, but it's a good take on the practical realities.
All IMHO, of course.

Subject: [Harp-L] The name "blues"
The recent attempt at "humor?" by "Harmonicology" to define the term blues
is distasteful, disrespectful, and patently racist. Other posts submitted in
response to this post are based on historical evidence. Whether you like
blues (or any other type of music) or not, there is no need to denigrate it
by immature and insensitive comments. Pete Sheridan
