[Harp-L] Spah 2014 Blow Off Lineup

RJ Misho is this years host!

Smo-joe was spot on with his comment, it's an opinion shared by many
around the globe. 'To my mind, and this is just personal, this event is a 'not
to be missed' opportunity. Desert before dinner, so to speak.'

The house band will start playing around 7pm, maybe earlier. Once again
it will be the St Louis Social Club with Jim McClaren on harp, this is an
all star lineup of great St Louis musicians.

>From 7:20 to 12:20 you'll be treated to Paul Davies, Nic Clark, Will
Scarlett, Winslow Yerxa, The George Miklas Trio, RJ Misho, Eric McSpadden, Koei
Tanaka, Joe Filisko, Grant Dermody, Buzz Krantz with a Youth Showcase, and
Michael Peloquin. Probably in that order but changes are possible. Time
permitting there will be an invitational jam at the end which will feature a
few more of the world class players attending the SPAH convention. (pssst,
Ronnie!)

A quick shout out to last years host John Nemeth, who is expecting a baby
boy within the next few days.

The location is once again BB's Jazz, Blues and Soups, a nationally
acclaimed blues venue that serves great St Louis style BBQ. BB's is a
non-smoking room, but there is an outdoor patio upstairs to accommodate smokers.

Five plus hours of GREAT world class players one after the other. This
bucket list event would not be financially viable if not for all these
artists coming to town for the SPAH convention, there's nothing else like it. Be
aware that the cover is not included with your convention registration...
and that half this lineup would be worth three times the $15 cover. Be
generous, for once again half the tip jar goes to SPAH's Youth Fund.

NO GUSSING! We had a persistent one last year, let me know if a polite
request to put it away doesn't have the desired effect... we'll take care of
it.

Transportation is still being discussed, more on that soon.

Once again there is a trio in the mix, and this year Paul Davies will bring
another change up. It's really cool to see the face of a local attendee
when they see and hear a chord and bass for the first time... the blowoff
provides a great vehicle to carry the 'P' in SPAH to the uninitiated.

For the sake of clarity... The Blues Blowoff has always been an
independently produced show. Although not an 'official' part of the SPAH
convention, the blowoff has strong ties and a huge following of convention
attendees. The blowoff brings awareness of SPAH to the local crowd and serves to
fuel new membership. The SPAH following is not confined to the blues
players, plenty of jazz, bluegrass, Celtic, old timey, country, classical and
trio players attend every year. Please come out and support this great
event, which in turn supports the mission of SPAH.
