Steve,
The mic that is correctly identified as the Elvis mic is the Shure 55, is
this what you have? The oldest ones are really big and known as the Fatboy
model. Some versions were multi-impedance, they look really cool but
don't sound very good. Later ones starting in the 1950's were much smaller,
they sound better but still not great, most of these are also
multi-impedance. The 55 is actually now produced as a low impedance model, it has a few
minor cosmetic differences, a modern XLR connector, and different guts than
the vintage ones. The Super 55 costs more and sounds much better than the
standard model.
Send some clear photos of the mic to me, likely I have the cable you need.
Or, I can fabricate one for you that will be much more durable than a
vintage cable. I can also retrofit the mic with a modern XLR connector as was
suggested by Jerry Deall. Another option is that I can fabricate an
adapter for you, hit me off list for details.
If you go to the Harmonica Planet .com website you will see a photo of
maybe 2/3 of my large mic collection laid out on display, including 2 Fatboy's
and 3 smaller 55's... see if you can spot them among the hundreds of mic's
shown. Many dozens of bullet mic's as well, it's a great photo!
I also make the 'Tone Defender', an an ultra durable screw fitting cable
to mate with the 5/8 screw connector on a JT-30 and many other harp mic's.

I sent this plea before, but don't think it went thru.
I have a vintage Elvis mic and I am not sure what cord to use. It has a
three pin connector. Low impedance?
