[Harp-L] Harmonica Heaven in Holland - 10 years anniversary !!
I Holland I organize a Harmonica Heaven on a monthly base... this started in jan. 2004 with 4 harp players .
We met at a wonderful location, harmonica and accordeonmuseum " de Muse" in Malden ( http://www.demuse.nl/dm/home/wat-is-de-muse/ )
We agreed to continue the meeting ( Harmonica Heaven) and our goal was and still is to meet other harmonica players, talk, drink ( coffee ... :-))) ) , eat apple pie with whipped cream , have a look at each others gear etc etc.
And so we did, sometimes we are with 10 to 15 people and sometimes it is more like 30 to 40 people. Players come from all over Holland, we even had people from Belgium and Germany coming over to Harmonica Heaven.
Every month I plan a subject , I do a mini-workshop on that subject... or I just answer questions and of course we play a little harmonica. People sometimes bring a guitar or another instruments with them so there's always room for jamming.
Everybody is welcome and that's why we have non-harpplayers who just come to listen, absolute beginners and pro players coming to Harmonica Heaven.
We had people like Jason Ricci, Bill Barrett, Joe Powers coming to our meeting and they all loved it.
In jan. 2014 we had our 10 years anniversary , nothing special planned but still 30 to 40 players came to talk, drink, listen and play.
Here are a few links that show me playing ( of course on my beta-harps !) together with my good friend Cor Groot, a wonderful guitarplayer/singer/harmonica player. We do some occasional gigs so it wasn't a real jam :-))
