Motion Capture Study of Harmonica Performance Gestures – looking for participants in MONTRÉAL!

I am looking for skilled harmonica players with at least 8 years of training that are willing to participate in a motion capture study about playing techniques and their impact on perceptual features. The study will help design new variants of the electronic harmonica.

Participants will be asked to perform hand cupping and note bending, followed by free performance of piece excerpts and a short questionnaire.

The experiment will take place from February 15th to the February 26th at CIRMMT (Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology) in room A-818 of the New Music Building, Schulich School of Music, McGill University, Montréal. Participants receive 30$ in compensation for the two hour experiment.

Étude de Capture de Mouvement des gestes de performance d'Harmonica – à la recherche de participants à MONTRÉAL!

Je cherche des joueurs d'harmonica experts avec au moins 8 ans d'apprentissage qui ont envie de participer dans une étude de Motion Capture concernant les techniques de performance et leur effet sur quelques aspects de perception. L'étude va aider à créer des nouveaux variations de l'harmonica électronique.

Participants devraient montrer la technique de Hand Cupping et de Note Bending, suivi par des extraits courts d'une pièce et un petit questionnaire.

L’expérience va avoir lieu du 15 Février au 26 Février au CIRMMT (Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Musique Média et Technologie) dans la salle A-818 du New Music Building, Schulich School of Music, McGill University, Montréal. Les participants vont recevoir 30$ comme récompense pour la durée de deux heures de l’expérience.
