Itâs time for Tulsaâs 5th Annual Harmonica Summit! Please check out the description below.  Itâs bigger and better than ever.  Hope to see you in T-town.

Tulsa's 5th Annual Harmonica Summit will showcase harmonica aces Jon Gindick, RJ Mischo, John Long, the Hohner Travelling Roadshow featuring Ronnie Shellist and Adam Hamil, Levee Town, Jimmy âJuniorâ Markham and Friends, and Harley's Harps. The 2014 Harmonica Summit, presented by the Route 66 Harmonica Club and the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame will take place on Saturday, March 1st at the Jazz Depot, 111 E. 1st St., Tulsa, OK. Doors open at 11 am and programs start at noon, continuing well into the evening. Admission is $15 for the day time workshops, $15 for the evening concert, or $25 for the entire event. Kids under 14 are free with an adult. 

Daytime Workshops - This celebration of the harmonica will include a Kids Harmonica Workshop at noon, with free harmonicas and lessons for the first 50 participants, presented by award-winning Blues Educator David Berntson. Headlining artists are nationally recognized harmonica performers and educators who will be presenting ongoing workshops throughout the afternoon, including a "teach in" where attendees can get one on one individual attention featuring harmonica playing techniques and theory, from beginners through intermediate to advanced. Hohner Harmonica's Adam Hamil, chief harmonica repair technician, will demonstrate harmonica modification and maintenance. Workshops will also include sessions on amplified harmonica techniques with microphone and amplifier demonstrations by Dennis Oellig aka Mr. Microphone, and Jon Popper of Eureka Springs. Also on the program is Harley's Harps with his fantastic collection of rare and antique harmonicas. Bring in your own antique harps for Harley to evaluate. And Tulsa's own open harp surgeon Mike Peace will also be on hand for harmonica customization and tuning. Opportunities will abound for harmonica players to jam with a featured combo during the day. Product displays, vendors and harmonica related giveaways will take place throughout the event. 

Evening Show & Dance - The evening festivities will be hosted by the boogie blues band Levee Town of Kansas City, beginning at 7:00 pm. This big evening show and dance will feature performances by traditional Blues legend John Long, world renowned harmonica instructor and performer Jon Gindick, the high energy harmonica of Ronnie Shellist and International blues harmonica ace RJ Mischo, as well as Oklahoma Blues and Jazz Hall of Fame legend Jimmy âJuniorâ Markham and other special guests. Each of these world class harmonica players will bring their own magic and style to the Jazz Depot stage.
