Thanks for the response Steve and for your suggestions of tunes that I will
enjoy looking up. You reminded me that I have not listened to your CD for
quite a while. It is time I returned to it.
I am also indebted to you for pointing me in the direction of the Zoom
recorder. I was so impressed by the other CD you sent me - recorded at your
local session in Cornwall that I knew I just had to get one. I was able to
record all the concerts and some of the classes at the Willie Clancy School
last July on my newly acquired H2. After that I even had a few extra hours
recording time to spare.
Your articles in Harmonica World are the first thing I read when the postman
delivers it.
I was not suggesting by the way that Irish Trad is exclusively a first
position activity - but just that the "trad cultural police" seem to favour
it.
I have to admit that I myself have been a kind of "First Position Junky"
insofar as that if I get a tune in the key of first position I expect the
harmonica to play itself.
