[Harp-L] Hohner 280

Michael,

There are a number of reasons the harmonica could be hard to blow for you:

1. Has it been taken apart and if yes, was the reassembly correct especially the slide and mouth piece where air commonly escapes.
2. Are the reed plates securely fastened?
3. Are the reed gaps excessive?
4. Are the valves "wind savers" in good condition?
5. Are there any cracks on the block?
6. Is your embouchure secure with no air leaking?
7. Is your Super 64 defective?

These are my initial thoughts. Playing a Super 64 and 280, I do not experience any blowing issues you mention unless some above items are prevail.

Hello,
I have been working on learning chromatic harp for a couple of years. I recently purchased a Hohner super 64. Is it me, or does this particular instrument require a lot of wind to play? Any suggestions on improving this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
