Re: [Harp-L] Yamaha THR10C

Richard, if you haven't fooled around with one of these yet, I'd love to hear your opinion. I have the THR10C, which is designed with more class A tube profiles (all are modifiable through software interface). I really like the 5 touch buttons on, that can instantly give me 5 custom presets. That said, I still love my RP355 and I am still learning how to get more out of it.

David,

I'm sure the THR10C sounds very good. At this point most modeling devices sound good, though some sound better in some styles than others (e.g. the Peavey Vyprs do heavy metal very well, low gain sounds like the ones preferred by most harp players less well). I used to own a Yamaha Magicstomp, and its amp modeling was limited (small combo mode only) but effective for harp.

However, the fact is that there's just too much good stuff out there now for me to try all of it. I've also never been so happy with the sound of my gear as I am now. I'm more interested at this point in making music with my gear, and exploring what that gear can do, than I am in checking out more gear.

I'm sure to miss something, but aren't we all? Anyway, I encourage you to work that THR10C, and anything else that sounds interesting, and let us all know when you've recorded something. There are many paths to great sounds.

Regards, Richard Hunter
