Though there is now an all-keys autoharp, most players who play in more than two or three keys carry multiple harps. A standard chord layout usually permits players to play in 3 major keys and the related minors. Thus it is pretty common to see a player carrying GDA, CFG and one other keyed autoharp of choice ... the possibilities for chord layouts on the 15- or 21-bar autoharp are almost endless ... you can build 'em to be focused on one key and some players even have 12 autoharps, one in each major key! That's a BIG load! The most I ever saw one player carry (at an autoharp festival) for actual use was 4.
