I'm a little surprised no one has written about SPAH, other than where
to find videos. I witnessed a number of fine performances, especially the
R.J. Mischo/Dennis Gruenling set. Was saddened to hear R.J. dedicate his
performance to "the late Lynwood Slim". Had no idea the man had passed.

There was a time when chromatic players were griping that hardly anybody
seemed interested in their instrument anymore, or the music they played. I
never bought this, just about every professional blues player I knew owned
a chromatic and featured it occasionally in their set list. Many of them
had taken the time to figure out a "standard" on it. I may have posted
