I bought various Hohners in the summer of 1982 at a close out sale. The
Sp20, ProHarp and Golden Melody all had nails. The ProHarp case was in soft
black plastic case with a snap. Soft brown case for the SP20. Soft plastic
blue case for marine band and blues harp. Think the Golden Melody came in a
hard plastic white case?
The retail price on the SP20 was $12.95 Canadian. I paid half that or so as
the store was going out of business.
I've dismantled and done some reed work on a couple. Extracted the nails
and replaced them with the screws from a Hohner Piedmont cheapy. Didn't
have to do any drilling and just carefully used the screw to self tap the
threads in the appropriate reed plate while both reed plates were in
position. Slipped through the non threaded hole without enlarging it.
