I posted some drawings a while ago at my website of a design for a light box that allows you to adjust the angle of the work surface so you are looking at the reed / slot at the best possible angle. It uses a half-round piece of PVC pipe to make it adjustable. If you like the idea, go ahead and use it.
I got a really cool response including a finished version of the box - so i posted the photos and some of the back story - turns out that the idea became a class project at a program in Erie Pennsylvania.
