My favorite chrom mic for clean stuff is the AKG C414. I recorded this cut live in the studio with the group only reverb and some echo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR87mPS8JNs

Id LOVE to have a Sennheiser 441 or 421, but alas, no. Do have a nice Shure Beta58 in a vintage 55 shell. One of Mike Stevens suggestions. Also, EV PL-6, and a Shure 545.
With so many microphone choices out there, its hard to know what to get. Iâm looking for either a ribbon, or condenser, just to have something different than my dynamics.
oh, did I say money IS an object?
