I agree. SM 57 is the bomb digity mic any time you are playing through unfamiliar equipment. I really loved the ultimate 57 with the bulletizer. 

Buyer beware!  Good looking, serviceable fakes abound on flea bay and the like. Buy from a trusted source like Greg Heumann, Ron Hobdy, and other suppliers on this list.
