Re: [Harp-L] fake book sale
Yes, some are actually titled "Fake Book." But don't be fooled by the title The Real Book. It is actually a fake book under a different title.
As you may have suspected, some have "fake book" in their titles, some don't. I already have a shelf of fake books. So I don't need any more. They're like phone books. I don't need every number, just the ones I want.
The category is called "fake book," The Real Book (6th edition)is one brand of fake books. Among those listed in page sent to me are: the "Pop Rock Fake Book," "Class Rock Fake Book." 'praise Worship Fake Book."
Sheetmusicplusdotcom headlines its post: "Save 20% on Fake Books" So I figure they know what they're talking about. Do you? Or are you just making lame jokes?
If you ever walk into a music store and ask if they stock fake books, they will know what you are talking about -- whether they have the words fake book in their titles or not.
And yes, they are available in several editions: C (that is concert C, meaning piano and HARMONICA) Bb, Eb, bass clef.

LOL
Are they actually titled "Fake Book"? If so, that's interesting because in the jazz realm, there's a big book of jazz standards called "The Real Book" that jazz troupes carry like a bible.
