Mike: you don't mean Nicolas 'Froggy' Fouquet? He was the one who posted
sporadically on Harp-l. His email was compromised so I haven't been able to
respond to him for a while although Dave Fertig might have a contact.

Had a young friend -another Nicolas (whose surname escapes me) traveling
with him on their visit to SPAH 2005(?), I think it was. Froggy was
literally dumped at my house by Warren Bee after Warren took him home to Long
Island then decided he couldn't handle having him underfoot in his small
apartment. Being flat broke he stayed with me for 4(?) months before we took him
to the Airport for his return trip to France. He lives in the South of
France and if I remember correctly his father is an accomplished guitar maker
there.

Despite a very awkward beginning (I hadn't gotten to know Nico at SPAH at
all so basically had a total stranger dumped on my doorstep), we made the
best of it and became friends due to our commonalities (cats, properly brewed
tea/coffee and harmonicas):) although Long Island was a bit boring for a
young guy without a car who came here to 'see America'. His younger
compatriot was his student and I believe was the one who stayed in Pa.

Hope that helps?

Elizabeth

Bill Hines knows his name. He stayed with Bill while passing through
Pennsyvania about 6-7 years ago. Use to be on harpl.

I tried the split on 2 harps. A GM I set up and a stock 1847. Seems
to work easier if the harp has been customized for effortless bend
notes.

If just occurred to me. Doesn't Carlos Del Junco do that on his live
cd? I seem to recall him starting with the bent note octave switch
then bringing it up into pitch. Maybe intro to Rocket 88? It's
been almost a decade since I've listened to the cd. I could be wrong.
