RE: [Harp-L] bending

Take the worse possible case : for example, Gb Maj or B Maj, and try to play
a simple melody with it (Happy birthday for example).
You can also take a simple lick, for example the beginning of Summertime,
and play it in all 12 keys, making sure each one is perfectly played.
There is also the "Seb Charlier" method. Really suprising, and very
efficient if you are crazy enough.
Here it is :
you put a earphone, with a loud sound in it, and you play the bends with a
tuner under the eyes (you mustn't hear your bends). When you hit the pitch,
you try to visualize the position of your tongue. Now you put away the
tuner, and record yourself playing the bend.
In the end, you put away the earphone, and control how far your recorded
note is from the right pitch.
It is endless of course ;-)

Hi

I know how to bend. I'm looking at interesting scales that would require me
to bend accurately, as opposed to hitting a blue note--like playing a
pentatonic scale in 5th position would require me to hit the 3 hole inhale
bend right on.

Any tips for ear training?

Jim
