For the new comb, don't over-tighten the screws and hope for the best.
For the old comb, you could:
- Remove the nut.
- Drill a .25" hole in the comb along the axis of the screw.
- Partially fill the hole with JB Weld (epoxy), leaving space for the
screw and nut.
- Put the greased* screw through the mouthpiece and screw on the
un-greased* nut.
- Push the nut on the greased* screw into the drilled hole in the greased*
comb.
- Hold the screw and greased* mp in place with a rubber band.
- After 24 hours, unscrew.
- Trim/sand away excess epoxy.
-Place on shelf for use when the new comb fails.
* Grease prevents the epoxy from sticking. You want it to stick to the
inside of the drilled hole and to the nut but not to the screw, the mp, or
the comb.
....Maybe not worth the trouble.............?
