Sandy Weltman mentioned that Les played a lot of arpeggios. Is there
any source of how to play arpeggios in 1st position on the diatonic?
My book "Jazz Harp" includes plenty of scale and arpeggio exercises. However, it's not meaningful to talk about playing arpeggios "in 1st position". An arpeggio by definition is a broken chord, i.e. it's the notes of the chord played in sequence, one at a time. It's the same chord regardless of which position you're playing in. if you can play the arpeggio in one position, you can play it in any other.
