Has anyone experimented with using flat washers between the nut and reed
plate and/or the screw head and reed plate? This approach would distribute
the clamping force across a larger section of the reed plate, and maybe
result in consistently flatter contact with the comb? How about adding a lock
washer between the nut and flat washer to keep everything in place?
What would the drawbacks be aside from the additional assembly hassle? Is
it another one of those things that could provide a small incremental
improvement... or am I barking up the wrong tree?
