Blackie Shackner was a kind and generous person, not to mention a fun and funny guy, and a monster harmonica player, especially on chromatic. He was a thorough master of the instrument. He dared to record Bach when few did, and his interpretations had a clear and very musical point of view. I never heard Blackie play a note that didn't work.
I'm sorry Blackie's gone. I'm glad he shared so much beautiful music with us.
