[Harp-L] Re: Update: Harp-L Fundrasier

Wow, thank you, that was fast. We've reached our goal for 2014.

Adding to the $215 we collected in early November, over the last two days we had 19 donations at the $10 level and 2 at the $5 level, for a grand total of $415. The $55 excess above the $360 target, as well as any further donations will be applied to any unanticipated upcoming tech expenses and/or roll over to next year's budget.

Thanks again!!!

- Slim.

Beginning last year, for the 2013 budget, we tried something new in the form of a fundraiser to offset the basic costs of keeping the list up and running. Please note that the real work, provided entirely by the list owner, has and continues to be done on a volunteer basis. Last year's fundraiser was a success and now it's time for a repeat performance with regard to the 2014 budget.

While there are many harmonica forums, I think most of us would agree that harp-l is not only unique, but damn near essential. So please take a moment to help out if you can.

However, I will post a list of the amounts received (with dates only) on a monthly basis to the list. In the interest of keeping this as simple and cost-effective as possible, we’re not setting up any kind of business account for the contributions and folks will just have to trust that I have no intention or reason to do anything with the money other than forward the funds to the list owner, who pays the bills. My role in this is strictly as a volunteer.

(Transaction fees are taken off the top of your contribution by PayPal). Please don't worry about the transaction fees as we're trying to keep this simple and I don't want to ask anyone to lie to PayPal as to the nature of their transaction. Rest assured, the transaction fee _will_ be covered by a matching donation, so your full contribution will be applied to the harp-l budget.
