[Harp-L] Subject: Pocketful of Soul, the Kickstarter Campaign, Last Word.

Last word from me on the brilliant Pocketful of Soul movie Kickstarter
campaign.

Calling its producers 'predatory' is absurd and plain wrong. You should be
ashamed.

Referring to the perks given to those contributing as 'inadequate' is
likewise absurd. Have you bothered looking at what other kickstarter campaigns
offer to their high-end contributors? Michael Rubin's band's Kalu James
offered to come to the high-end recipients' homes to cook an authentic African
meal (since that's where he's from originally). I thought that was quite
delightful although I couldn't personally make a contribution of that size.
It did NOT involve a 'piece' of the CD, nor would it ever! Have you called
EVERY kickstarter requester 'predatory'? If not, then why not? Why restrict
it to the sole film devoting YEARS to the promotion of the harmonica?
Because it doesn't suit this particular agenda?

Why are the few very negative comments made aBOUT the movie here on harp-l
coming from people who have zero involvement with the movie and so know
absolutely NOTHING about it?

'Nuff said about that.

Don't contribute and don't go to see it. Problem solved!

Don't involve yourself with it, don't ever buy the DVD and so deprive
yourself of an absolutely enjoyable and fun experience. Your decision.(Frankly,
I think you're the types who'd likely complain all through it and ruin the
experience for the rest of us so do us all a favour and PLEASE stay away.)
lol

As for the rest of those who love it and who've already had the privilege
of attending showings in movie houses and viewing it at SPAH and who'll make
sure to get copies of the DVD when it's issued, we'll make sure not to
discuss it with those of you who feel such distaste and negativity. You
needn't concern yourself any longer.

Since you're not involved at all just why ARE y'all still so 'het up'?
Goodness!

Elizabeth
