[Harp-L] 2nd Annual Grand Rapids Harmonica Summit

Hi All

 

I was in attendance last night at the The Little Walter Tribute show in
Grand Rapids, MI. Only $12 at the door. What a bargain imo.

It was held at the renovated Wealthy Theatre, a 200 seat venue and the sound
seemed perfect in there.

 

Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones with Dougs main man, Dennis Gruenling tore
it up first !!! Dennis was followed by the low key one, Joe Filisko

who let the stage cool some with a couple acoustic numbers before reigniting
the stage by bringing the band back and doing some electric LW.

Show then continued with the appearance of Milwaukees Jim Liban who told a
great story about meeting LW in addition to some major league electric LW.

Guitars at various times were of course Doug Deming, the Rising Star
niminee, Nick Moss and Troy Amaro. 

 

It was organized and hosted by Grand Rapids own Hank Mowery(harper) who
kicked things off and the emcee work during and was part of the finale.

 

Plans seem to be in place for the 3rd annual summit slated for October of
2014. Put it on your caledar if possible.
