[Harp-L] Charlie McCoy at SPAH -- great save
Just as Charlie and Buddy were starting off a song Saturday night, Buddy whispered into Charlie's ear while Charlie was playing that he (Buddy) had picked up the wrong harmonica. At which point Charlie turned and stepped to the back of the stage next to the keyboard player and said to the band: "To the one." Waited a few seconds and added: "Now!"
And the band was back on the I chord so Buddy could come in with his part and the right harmonica.
I was as much impressed by how Charlie got the train back on the tracks, averting a train wreck, as I was with his stellar playing. The move was so seamless I'll bet most of the audience was not even aware it ever happened.
