Re: [Harp-L] harp/position short code

What about when you use a Bb harp to play in C MAJOR?

Position does not lock you into the default scale. Blues harmonica players often play third position major in the first four holes, which requires no overblows to accomplish.

Naming the resultant tonal center (G on a C harp when you play in second position) helps those who don't know the basics of tonal relationships. (Though it also spoon feeds them so that they don't need to rise to the challenge of learning those basics).

Specifying the scale provides information that may help the beginner. But it may go too far in the direction of locking out useful possibilities that players can explore.

Subject: [Harp-L] harp/position short code

I advocate using this short form to identify

harp
position
resulting key

Bb3PCm = Bb harp, 3rd position, C minor

and much shorter to write!
Can you anticipate any conditions where this code
