[Harp-L] Finally! Overdraws!



That's a great question.
Make very incremental changes in the gaps to see if you can still hit the
OD and get smoother draws.  A way to test the draw is to play a slide into
the note from the left of the hole sort of like the intro phrase to "Don't
Get Around Much Anymore".  You might find that as you improve on the OD you
can open the gap up a little.  A bunch of very small adjustments there are
better than one big one.

Also, grab the metronome and play scale runs up and down that incorporate
the OD and the draw note. Play slowly and only move to a faster speed when
you have mastered the run.

Lastly,if guys like Michael Rubin or Sandy Weltman or any of the other
truly masterful OB/OD players here say something entirely different.  Do
what they say!
