[Harp-L] Better than a Light Box

Since the microfiche has become obsolete technology unwanted microfiche
readers can be picked up at low cost in garage sales and the like.

Rick Epping told us at a workshop some years ago how you can place a reed
plate in a microfiche reader where the fiche would normally go. This gives a
clear and magnified view of the clearance around the reeds.

Fiche readers by the way in their original use can be a boon to car nuts.
Since auto dealers have gone all computerised they often discard their fiche
shop manuals as well as the readers. Some of the specialist car clubs have
got their 'hooks' on these old manuals in fiche format and can sell copies
to club members.
