A counterfeit SM57? I am in the market for a used SM57, and have made several unsuccessful bids on EBay. Maybe I'm just naive, but it never occurred to me that a sm57 might be counterfeit. Why would someone go to the trouble of making another mic look like a Shure when the the Shure sells used for only around $50 on EBay. How does one produce a counterfeit sm57 anyway?

Be careful where you buy. There are so many counterfit SM58's and SM57's for sale on the Internet. Buy from a trusted source like Greg Heumann, Ron Hobdy, etc. Don't shop FleaBay.
