basically this a semi-valid test, heavy on the semi.
the test protocol is flawed by:
1. no reference or baseline recording (non-harmonica tone reference)
2. dependence on listener's speakers which may be of highly varied quality
3. different musical pieces on each recording
4. different phrasing in each of the four recordings
5. lots of bending, chording and articulations
a much better group of recordings would have been provided by playing slow
scales (single notes), with each note lasting a few seconds, and identical
scales being played at the same tempo on all harps.
the idea of a truly valid test is to eliminate as many variables as
possible. this test does not meet that criteria.
