Joe Leone calls them drift pins. Since he is so awesome, I call them drift pins, too.
First,
1) lay with drift pin head down against board
2) tap gently with small hammer, just so it loosens.
3) Use a pair of wire cutters (like the one in the Seydel toolkit) and pull out the nail.
It can help if you put a little oil on it and let it soak in before you start.

I've found removing nails in GM's and SP20's to be a huge PIA. If you can
get it done without warping the reed plates, it is easy to use the current
cover bolts and either tap for screws or use a screw and bolt (preferred by
me) on the reedplates.
