[Harp-L] Fantastic Article
What Kimo taught Silver applies to many academic disciplines and
fields of study: Most subjects of study are governed by a relatively
few controlling concepts--if you understand those controlling
concepts, you are able to figure out just about everything else you
need to know with relatively little additional effort. Identifying
those controlling concepts is the challenge. Many teachers can't
help you with that, because not all teachers think conceptually, so
many of them don't have a clue that such controlling concepts even
exist.
