Sugar Blue and Billy Branch, while exceptional players, simply do not have the name recognition that some of the older blues masters had.

Ex-ACTLY. Remember Motown? There were at least 12 top of the tree girl acts. Where did that go? Same goes for blues.

I agree. Even little Pittsburgh had scads of blues and jazz bands..AND the clubs for them to play in. People these days don't set aside income for fun and good times like they used to. They CAN't. Both parents have to work now and if they can save some jing, they can get a big screen T.V.
