Matthew Smart asked:
Where can one purchase blu tack never tried it
Blu-tack is a synthetic putty-like material that is made to mount
posters, etc. on a wall without having to pound nails into it. You can
find it, or the equivalent, at any well-stocked office supply store. I
think it was Brendan Power who discovered that you can use it to retune
reeds lower in pitch by pressing a small dab on the end of a reed (it
will stick and stay there) and then gradually carving away at it until
you achieve the desired pitch. If you change your mind, you can always
restore the reed to its former pitch by removing the tiny blob of
Blu-tack as it remains pliable and slightly sticky over time. Folks who
use it report that it doesn't tend to fall off by itself even after
extended periods.
