Saw their show in Savannah last night.
Although the concept of Bela and the band is lotsa notes played most of the time, there were moments of extreme beauty and virtuoso fireworks. These guys sure can play.
Howard's solo harmonica spot was full of well developed double stops, sprinkling of humor and lyrical majesty. Most fun was listening to those in the audience around me try to explain to each other how Howard could do that two part independent line stuff.
They had a guest violin player sit in who did the most incredible rhythmic duo w/Victor Wooten - funky violin. who woulda thought?
