Re: [Harp-L] Re: Battery Powered Amp
Busking:
For most busking situations...
you will not want to have a "harp" sound but more of a reproduction of what is happening...
For singing and playing at the same time...acoustic....I found the Taxi TX15 long lasting battery a big improvement over previous battery powered amps.
My friend each bought one so and we can play at beach parties / parade floats...etc...boats...back of trucks...festivals...foldable mike stand a must...
Not a great harp sound...and thin on the vocals...but fits right on the back of your bike...and takes and XLR vocal mic...and has EQ....easy to move..stable..
If you have a good backdrop...it sounds bigger... ( yes I have strapped this to my back as part of my halloween costume....( astronaut from hell...etc)
wish I would have bought the next size bigger ( this one is lacks vocal depth or warmth...) but I do not think crate makes the next size bigger any more...
The tx15 taxi goes for $169...
I paid $150 and went out and it played a two day festival..(plugging in at times) it payed for itself in one weekend...
Currently, Their other amp ( crate) is $399 and has 50 watts...wow...now that is some busking....the LIMO...
Here is the promo... for the Taxi The CD input has has been my go to Mono boom box for years....
If you're the type of performer who requires the ultimate in portability, but refuse to sacrifice tone for mobility, the Crate TX15 was made for you.
