Interesting, there is this snippet from Bloomfield's discography...
Â
"This concert was billed as the â??Super Cosmic Joy-Scout
Jamboreeâ?? and opened with the Ace of Cups followed by Nick
Gravenites and Quicksilver Messenger Service (Gravenites produced
the concert). Bloomfield is the vocalist on â??Young Girl.â?? The
unknown titles come from a second set which featured Cotton and
Webb, a member at the time of The Flock. The musicians all donated
their services for the concert to benefit the Wheaton-based Phoenix
Fellowship. According to Marshall Chess, the idea to do an album
with Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield and Bloomfield came from Michael
himself. The title, â??Fathers and Sons,â?? was also Bloomfieldâ??s
idea. On the unissued tune â??Iâ??m Goinâ?? Home,â?? Waters is
backed by Albertina Walker and other gospel singers; one take
features a solo by Bloomfield, the other has a solo by tenor player
Gene Ammons. Thanks to Norman Dayron, the recordingâ??s producer,
for this information."
Â
There is no mention of any Muddy Waters recordings with Johnny
Winter or Dr John during this time period. Winter seems to first
appear on the Muddy dioscography in March '77 at Harry Hope's club.
Â
Not saying it didn't happen, but seems to be scant references from
all avenues?

Subject: [Harp-L] Father's and Son's
I was talking to my band leader last night about the Father's and
Son's lp. He said the Cosmic Scout Jamboree that the lp is taken
from was filmed and shown on tv. He said PBS aired it years ago.
He said Johnny Winter and Dr. John were also on the bill but didn't
appear on the lp.
I never knew the concert was televised. You'd expect Butterfield
collectors to post something on You Tube but I never heard anyone
mention it until last night.
Can anyone confirm it's existence out there?
Take Care
Mike
