I've had a lot of luck with the tuner applications I've downloaded to my Droid. Both daTuner and gstrings are free guitar tuner apps.
Also, Seydel has a couple handy harp apps for Droid, and maybe other smartphone OS's, I don't know.
One is called Harpion, and it plays samples of all the notes on a harmonica. Good for tuning by ear.
Another good one is harpKey v2. All positions and keys diagrams in your phone. Use it all the time.

I'd love to own an analog strobe tuner but alas I don't have the cash. Anyone having good results from a software-based tuner? -chuck
