I'm judging and performing at this festival, and have done so at the
2010 and 2008 ones.
It is highly formalised. The emphasis is on competitions, the standard
is unbelievably high. The judges perform in a couple of "gala" concerts,
each player getting around 8 minutes. There will probably be around 2000
attendees, with very few 10 hole players, if any. Brendan Power will be
there, Jens Bunge (an excellent German chromatic Jazz player), Willi
Berger and a host of Asian harmonica luminaries.
I've gotten to know them over the years. They are really good people.
The proceedings will be formal, as large Asian events often are, but
great fun as well.
