Re: [Harp-L] splitting long recordings

My favorite converter is Freac, which you can download from Sourceforge. It's free, open source, and can handle a wide range of file formats including wma. The interface is a little geeky, but after you use it once or twice that's not a problem. Another free choice is Foobar2000. It's an audio player that can also do a variety of file conversions, tag manipulation, and act as a DLNA server. Both programs are under active development and are well supported.

Hey Bruce, I have used Applian's various "Replay" software for almost 10 years now. They have a bunch of different modules, but "Replay Converter" should do what you need. It's 10 bucks, works well, and has never given be any BS "malware" issues or anything like that. Good Luck! -chuck http://applian.com/replay-converter/index.php

Subject: [Harp-L] splitting long recordings

What I have are long recordings from Sugarmegs.org. They are all in WMA
format, I've split some into tracks by copying to a CD, then ripping as WAV
and editing into tracks in a program called Polderbits. Audacity will not
recognize the WMA files, so I have to convert them. I have a 2 hour program
that is too long to burn to CD, and I'm open to suggestions...
